Statement of Faith

Throughout time people have run their rakes through Christian doctrine. Either redefining what the Bible teaches or upholding it. Since this website focuses strongly on the Scriptures, it is important for you to know my core beliefs. In fact, I would encourage you to look for a Statement of Faith or Beliefs on every website of this nature, before you attend any church, follow a podcast, or donate to a ministry.

I uphold seven core beliefs as essential to Christianity. These beliefs relate to God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, humanity, salvation, and the end of time.

About the Scriptures—I believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and without mistakes as originally written. It is the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life. (Psalm 119:105; 160; Proverbs 30:5; Luke 24:27; John 5:39; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

About God—I believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are co-eternal and of equal dignity and power. (Genesis 1:1,26-27; Psalm 90.2; Matthew 28:18-19; John 1:1-2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3; 1 Peter 1:2)

About Jesus Christ—I believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His substitutionary death on a cross; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal, imminent return in power and glory. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-5; 4:25-26; Acts 1: 9-11; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Revelation 1:5-6)

About Humanity—I believe that humankind was created by and for God; but in Adam’s sin of disobedience to God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence; and that all people are sinners by nature and practice. (Genesis 1:26; 2:17; 6:5; Psalm 14:1-3; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:23; 5:12; 6:23; 8:6-7; 1 John 3:8)

About Salvation—I believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. (John 1:12; 5:24; Romans 5:1,8; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Mark 1:14-15; Galatians 3:26)

About the Holy Spirit—I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who regenerates sinners and indwells every true believer at the moment of salvation, enabling and empowering the life and ministry of the believer. (John 3:5-6, 14:16; 16:7-15; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Titus 3:5-6)

About Eternal Life—I believe in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived. To be eternally separated from God into everlasting punishment for those who have rejected God’s forgiveness in His Son. Or to live eternally in union with God for those in right relationship with Him. (Luke 23:42; John 3:16; Romans 6:8; 23; 8:11; Philippians 1:23; 2 Thessalonians 1: 7-9; Jude 6-7; Revelations 20:11-15)
